Nero Emperor of the Roman Empire from 13 October 54 to 9 June 68.
Nero Claudius Caesar Augustus Germanicus was Roman emperor from 54 to 68. He was adopted by his great-uncle Claudius and became heir and successor.

Nero's mother was implicated in Claudius' death and Nero's nomination as emperor. She dominated Nero's early life and decisions until he had her murdered in 59 AD. His rule is usually associated with tyranny and extravagance, and most sources offer overwhelmingly negative assessments of his personality and reign.

In 68 AD, Vindex, the governor of Gallia Lugdunensis, rebelled. He was supported by Galba, the governor of Hispania Tarraconensis. Nero fled Rome when Rome's discontented civil and military authorities chose Galba as emperor. He committed suicide on June 9, 68 AD.

"Curtis Clay of Harlan Berk amends the translation with the explanation that PARTA is not "doors", but the past participle of "pario", "bring forth, produce, acquire". Thus the translation correctly reads: "The Peace of the Roman People having been established Everywhere, he closed (the Temple of) Janus." -www.parthia.com
